2017 Calendar
Ann Arbor Democratic Party

Updated May 4, 2017

Each year, the Ann Arbor Democratic Party hosts approx. 9 general membership mtgs held every second Saturday of the month (excluding August and special occasions); 1 annual mtg in December or January; 12 exec cmte mtgs; 5 major fundraisers (chili cook-off, elegant strolling gala, Labor Day picnic, July 4th BBQ, straw poll dinner); numerous candidate forums; and approx. 5 to 8 mixers to support local Ann Arbor businesses.

General membership mtgs typically include: breakfast, guest speakers, resolutions, elected official and candidate remarks, reports, calls to action, and announcements.  Two of our general membership mtgs are UNITY meetings done in cooperation with our good friends from the Washtenaw County Democratic Party & other left leaning groups.

Throughout the year, the Ann Arbor Democratic Party offers training weekends and regular evening sessions for Democrats interested in running for political office, serving as a campaign manager, or becoming a precinct delegate.  Participants learn about planning/strategy, fundraising/reporting, messaging, coalition building, securing endorsements, recruiting volunteers, social media, and other important subject areas.

The Ann Arbor Democratic Party also sends delegations to numerous Congressional District Party, Washtenaw County Democratic Party, Michigan Democratic Party, Democratic National Committee, and special Presidential events.  Each year, the Ann Arbor Dems participate in numerous local community events (Water Hill music festival, NAACP Juneteenth celebration, Ann Arbor Jaycees July 4th parade, Ann Arbor Art Fair).  Check out the 2017 calendar below for details and important filing deadlines for voters and candidates.
