Recruiting Women & Minority Candidates for Elected Office: AA Dems Meeting May 11

Join us at the Ann Arbor Community Center, 625 North Main Street, 9:30 AM to 12 Noon to learn about an important current issue — Recruiting Diverse Candidates for Elected Office, and learn how to become more engaged in the Party. So far confirmed speakers include:

  • Michigan State Representative Gretchen Driskell
  • Honorable Alma Wheeler Smith
  • Kristy Pagan (Nat’l Foundation for Women Legislators, EMILY’s List, Deb Markowitz for Governor) — Ms. Pagan is also rumored to be a candidate for elected office
  • Yodit Mesfin Johnson (Director of Business Development at NEW Center) — Ms. Mesfin Johnson has earned a reputation as a very dynamic speaker in the nonprofit, business, & political communities
  • Paul Stevenson (Attorney and Administrative Chair for the Justice Caucus)

The Party will also serve a light breakfast (coffee, tea, juice, bagels, fruit, etc.).
