The Council will interview candidates for the position of City Administrator on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, July 12 & 13. Council members will meet on July 12 at 7:30 am at City Hall, and will divide into three groups. Each group will interview each candidate one-on-one. Interviews will occur in separate rooms, and candidates will travel to each interview. The Council members will each have a list of questions to ask; as they stick to each list, they will be able to ask the same questions of each candidate — keeping the playing field level.
Council members will host a reception for the candidates on Tuesday evening, 5:30 to 7:30 in the lobby of the new annex to City Hall (enter off 5th Avenue). There will be light refreshments and an opportunity to meet each candidate. Each candidate will make a brief presentation.
On Wednesday, July 13, each candidate will make a more extensive presentation, and Council members will ask questions. This presentation begins at 8 am in the Council Chambers, Second Floor, City Hall. It should last until noon. This presentation will be televised.
